Who we are

East Ridge Union Church (ERUC) is a rural Community Bible Church located in the Northern Maine Community of Mars Hill. Founded over 100 years ago, this Church is a historic beacon to many members in the local community, it was one of the first religious organizations in the community. The current congregation is made up of multi-generational families, widows and widowers, and long-term members, some coming from different denominational backgrounds. We are an Elder led fellowship dedicated to teaching the essential truths of scripture without being dogmatic about non-essential interpretations. We can only be categorized as a loving Christian fellowship dedicated to The Word and Its Author.

Our Vision

The purpose of East Ridge Union Church is to draw people to a personal relationship with our Savior and God, developing men women and children led of God, dedicated to complete surrender to Jesus Christ and obedience to His Word by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Where we are located

Nestled in the shadow of Mars Hill Mountain, the town of Mars Hill is small-town America at its best, with a population of approximately 1500 hard-working friendly people who take great pride in their town, lifestyle, and heritage.

By virtue of its location less than two miles from the border with New Brunswick, Canada, the summit of Mars Hill is the first place in the United States to see the sunrise for nearly half the year. The mountain is traversed by a section of the International Appalachian Trail, a 525-mile footpath that extends from Maine’s Baxter State Park through New Brunswick and Quebec to a grand finish at Belle Isle at the northern tip of Newfoundland and the natural end of the Appalachian Mountains.

Mars Hill also provides world-class hunting and fishing, direct access to the state snowmobile trail system, and miles of ATV trails. Big Rock Ski Resort and the 18-hole Mars Hill Country Club are also located in this community. Mars Hill is home to the Central Aroostook High School Panthers which currently boasts the State Champions in Basketball, Cheering and Skiing! The 2023 graduating class consisted of 30 Students and was awarded over $180,000 in scholarships mostly provide by local businesses and families. CAHS is one of the few remaining School Districts that still provides a Baccalaureate Service for our graduating class.
